Enhance Your French and Embrace the Caribbean Culture

Forget ordinary summer programs. The Summer Study Program in the French Caribbean gives high school students the chance to immerse themselves fully in French while actively engaging in service learning projects that address today’s most important global challenges.

Living with welcoming host families, students practice French daily in authentic settings, guided by experienced FLE professors and local experts. Each week combines:
✔ Morning French classes focused on communication and cultural themes
✔ Afternoon activities, excursions, and hands-on workshops
✔ Service learning projects that connect students with local communities and ecosystems

What makes this program unique is the opportunity to create and express in French through projects like podcasting, creative writing workshops with published authors, and group exhibitions. Students don’t just learn, they collaborate, innovate, and develop the confidence to use French in meaningful ways.

With sessions dedicated to environment & ecology and energy & innovation, participants go beyond language learning. They contribute to meaningful projects, gain new perspectives, and discover the French Caribbean as a vibrant, living part of la francophonie.

These are the tools they’ll carry with them into college and beyond.

Why Choose Our Summer Study Program?

Our program is more than just a summer abroad, it’s a chance to live French, contribute to real projects, and build skills that last a lifetime.

Academic Excellence

Morning French (FLE) classes, led by university-level professors, focus on communication, culture, and critical thinking ; building the confidence to use French in real-world contexts.

Host Family Immersion

Daily life with welcoming host families provides constant opportunities to practice French authentically, while experiencing the warmth and traditions of Caribbean life.

Cultural Discovery

Workshops in dance, Creole cooking, crafts, and guided visits to heritage sites bring the living culture of Martinique to life, making language learning engaging and memorable.

Service Learning at the Core

Students actively engage in eco-citizenship and innovation projects. From restoring mangroves and protecting coral reefs to exploring renewable energy with local partners. They don’t just observe, they take action.

Creative & Real-World Skills

Through podcasting, creative writing workshops with published authors, and group exhibitions, students use French to collaborate, innovate, and communicate. These are the tools they’ll carry into college and beyond.

Our approach goes beyond theory: students choose between two thematic sessions that connect French with global challenges. Each path blends academics, culture, and hands-on service learning, offering a unique way to live la francophonie in the Caribbean.
